Frequently asked questions
How bidding and buying work on Aswaq Motors, what happens after you bid, and how to sell your own vehicle.
Bidding
Do I need an account to bid?
Yes. Browsing is open to everyone, but to bid or ask to buy you need a free account with a confirmed email address, and our team approves new accounts, usually within a day.
How do I place a bid?
Open the vehicle and click Bid. Enter a whole amount in US dollars at or above the minimum next bid, review it, and confirm. You receive an email with a bid reference for every bid.
Can I change or withdraw a bid?
No. A confirmed bid stays. Check the amount before you confirm it.
What happens when I am outbid?
You receive an email, and the vehicle page and your My bids page show that you have been outbid. You can bid again at any time before bidding ends.
When does bidding end?
At the exact date and time shown on the vehicle page, with a live countdown. The dealer may extend the end time, never shorten it.
What happens after bidding ends?
The dealer selling the vehicle contacts the highest bidder personally by email, phone, or SMS to arrange payment and handover. Bid amounts are no longer shown after bidding ends.
Are there fees for bidders?
No. Bidding and buying through the website are free. The dealer and you agree payment directly.
Buying at a fixed price
How does Ask to buy work?
Some vehicles are listed at a fixed price instead of bidding. Click Ask to buy, add a message if you like, and the dealer receives your request and contact details. The dealer then gets in touch with you to complete the sale. The website takes no payments and makes no reservation.
Selling your vehicle
I have no dealer. Can I sell my vehicle here?
Yes. Click Sell your vehicle, send the details and photos, and our team reviews them. If we accept, one of our offices contacts you to agree the price and our fee, then lists the vehicle. You pay only at the office, in cash or by bank transfer, against a receipt.
Your account and privacy
Who sees my contact details?
Only our staff and the dealer selling a vehicle you bid on or ask to buy. They are never shown on the website.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from your account settings, except for a short period after bidding ends on a vehicle you bid on, so the dealer can still reach the highest bidder. Your bids are then kept without your details.
Is a bid legally binding?
Please read the terms, which explain what a bid means and how a sale is completed.
